Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Team - Back To Your Body Somatic Therapy

Welcome to Back To Your Body – Somatic Therapy!

We are a small team of Somatic Experiencing practitioners trained in the method of Dr. Peter Levine, as well as in other somatic trauma healing modalities.

We work with adults one-on-one and offer teletherapy services to clients worldwide.

Every person is unique and so should be the approach to healing.

About us

Apart from being Somatic Experiencing practitioners and somatic trauma healing professionals, we are also humans who have been on a healing journey long enough to know how challenging it can be. Our lived experience and our professional training in multiple body-oriented trauma healing approaches allow us to meet our clients with understanding, sensitivity and compassion for where they are on their healing journey.

Each one of us is different with a unique skill set and expertise. But what brings us together is the awe for the incredible innate self-healing capacity our bodies and our nervous systems hold and the appreciation for the somatic therapeutic approaches that allow us to access it.

Meet Elena Jacinta

Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) & Founder of Back To Your Body

Elena Jacinta - Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP)

Works with:

individuals (women)

Available for sessions:

online & in person

Location:

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Specialty:

developmental (including pre-verbal), shock trauma (including medical trauma, accidents, assaults), generational trauma

About me:

As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I support women on their healing journey, guiding them back home to themselves and their bodies.

My practice is rooted in over 20 years of working with the body through movement – initially as a dance artist, later as a yoga facilitator, and currently as a trauma-informed somatic practitioner.

I believe in a slow and gentle approach and I lead with compassion and attunement creating a safe space to attend to the wounds that are not meant to be healed on our own.

One of my specialties is working with early childhood and pre-verbal trauma, including prenatal wounding, that often shows up as emotional or physiological symptoms that seem to have no context or medical cause. I also enjoy supporting women recovering after shock trauma and offer guidance in repairing relational ruptures and generational wounds.

In my SE sessions, I weave in somatic touch work, as well as elements of NeuroAffective Touch, emotional embodiment of Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP), IFS-based somatic parts work along with applied Polyvagal Theory to address a range of issues.

I believe that all of us have the innate resilience and capacity to overcome the grip of our past, and as we (re)discover it with the right support, we can find more ease, freedom and joy in being alive.

"Elena is an excellent facilitator whose calm and non-judgmental presence provides a very safe space for me to explore what’s going on in my body. Each session brought me lots of insights and healing and Somatic Experiencing with Elena helped me tremendously to be more grounded and present in my body. Thank you so much!"

“Elena was very gentle and prioritized my felt safety as we slowly explored and worked through some traumatic memories and helped me be more grounded and present in my body. My experience during our session along with some tools she gave me to use on my own helped me gain insight and appreciation for how important our relationships with our bodies are when healing trauma. I left the session feeling whole and empowered to continue my healing journey and to honor it's process. Thank you so much!”

Meet Arpitha Shankar

Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) & Couples Specialist

Arpitha Shankar - Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP)

Works with:

individuals and couples

Available for sessions:

online & in person

Location:

Auroville, India

Specialty:

developmental and attachment trauma, shock trauma, chronic illnesses, somatic couples therapy

About me:

As a body-oriented, attachment-informed trauma therapist & couples specialist, I help individuals and couples reclaim their emotional well-being, rebuild healthier relationships, and rediscover their sense of agency.

I understand that trauma, attachment patterns, and cultural influences shape our behaviors and relationships in powerful ways. With compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to your unique experience, I will support you in navigating these complexities and finding healing.

I integrate Bodynamic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you address deep-rooted emotional wounds. These therapeutic approaches work in harmony to release emotional tension stored in the body, process unresolved trauma, and heal internalized beliefs.

Therapy is a collaborative journey. Together, we’ll explore your goals, dive into emotional patterns, and make space for meaningful, lasting change. Success in therapy isn’t just about surface-level shifts—it’s about creating a deeper connection to yourself, healthier relationships, and a more authentic life.

Culturally Sensitive Boundary Work & Relationship Dynamics
For those from South Asian collectivist cultures, balancing personal boundaries with family expectations can feel overwhelming. Together, we’ll explore how to honor your needs while navigating family dynamics, allowing you to cultivate emotional well-being and restore a sense of autonomy within relationships.

Trauma & Identity Transformation After Giving Birth
Becoming a parent, especially a mother, often brings identity shifts and emotional challenges that aren’t always talked about. I offer somatic, attachment-informed therapy to support you through the emotional landscape of bonding with your newborn, helping you reclaim your sense of self during this transformative time.

Healing Childhood Wounds & Emotional Reactivity
If past emotional wounds—like neglect or trauma—are affecting how you respond in relationships, we’ll work together to break free from old patterns. You’ll gain tools for emotional regulation and find peace by shifting reactive cycles that impact your connections.

Chronic Health & Emotional Suppression
For those struggling with chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders or IBS, I work with you to uncover the emotional pain that might be contributing to your physical symptoms. Through mind-body integration, we’ll support your healing and restore balance.

Couples Therapy & Parenting Support
In couples therapy, we shift from the “you vs. me” mindset to a “we” mentality, focusing on collaboration, mutual understanding, and compassion. Together, we’ll strengthen your emotional regulation, improve communication, and set healthy boundaries. I also help couples align their parenting strategies to nurture both their relationship and their children’s developmental needs.

Conscious Dating & Attachment Healing
If dating feels like a series of unhealthy patterns or missed connections, I’ll help you understand how attachment wounds may be at play. Through healing, we’ll break these cycles and build a foundation for secure, fulfilling relationships.

Healing deep-rooted emotional wounds requires a multi-layered approach. That’s why I blend Bodynamic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to offer a comprehensive, body-centered approach to trauma healing. These modalities help us address the emotional patterns that may have started in early childhood—sometimes even before birth.

  • Bodynamic Therapy helps us uncover how trauma is stored in your body, through tension, posture, and movement.
  • Somatic Experiencing (SE) works with your nervous system to release stuck emotional energy, so that trauma can be processed in manageable doses.
  • IFS allows us to speak to the younger parts of you—those inner voices that may still carry the beliefs and fears from your past—so we can heal them with compassion.

For example, if you grew up feeling emotionally unsupported, your body might hold physical tension (like hunched shoulders or a collapsed chest). These physical signs often represent underlying emotional struggles. Through this therapeutic process, we release that tension, address the beliefs that were formed in childhood (like “I’m responsible for everyone’s emotions”), and heal those younger parts of you. This allows for emotional regulation, deeper connection in relationships, and a stronger sense of self.

By integrating these body-based techniques, you’ll experience long-term healing that reconnects you with your true, authentic self.

Balancing personal needs with family or cultural expectations;

Feeling disconnected or misunderstood in relationships;

Chronic physical symptoms tied to emotional suppression (pain, fatigue);

Struggling with self-doubt, self-silencing, or attracting unhealthy relationships;

Dissociation, emptiness, or feeling stuck in personal growth;

Emotional blocks around decision-making, success, or finances.

Reconnected Self-Trust: Rediscover your inner wisdom and make decisions that align with your authentic self;

Stronger Boundaries & Emotional Regulation: Develop healthier ways to manage emotions and navigate relationships with more ease;

Healing from Dissociation & Emptiness: Reconnect with your body and emotions, creating a deeper sense of wholeness;

Breaking Old Relationship Patterns: Cultivate intimacy and healthier dynamics with others;

Overcoming Emotional Blocks to Success: Transform limiting beliefs about money, success, and your worth;
